Stunning Perseverance

There are special traits you find in some people and you begin to wonder if they’re entirely from a different world, sent from heaven or born like every other human.
Such a distinguishing traits, I at first find difficult to comprehend – but its attainable if you dare to have it.
The scenario we will consider is one that is to some extent contradicting. To one view, people may opine that some leaders don’t dream to see their subordinates become their successor or probably excel than they do.
While that fact is not disputable, there are also leaders who would want to see his/her subordinate fast in learning. As such, they might really dedicate lots of time teaching them a lessons that will indeed leave them with the mantle.
Let’s take a look at Elijah and his God son in 2Kngs 2. Probably out of ignorance of the likely outcome of his anticipated rapture event, he instructed Elisha, ‘tarry here while I go to Bethel as the Lord has asked me to’.
“Elisha must have said within himself ‘ its not time to leave yet as he never want his boss depart.
He must have had contemplation within him; “If my Boss leaves, I’m really gonna miss a lot”.
I had doubted if such selfish thoughts as ” Its possible I’m likely gonna assume his office in his absence” never rocked his mind. Well, that’s something to consider some other time.”
And then his response confirmed his state of mind about his Boss departure.
“As surely as God lives and my lord(yourself) lives, I will never leave you”.
Throughout Elijah’s compulsion on Elisha to tarry, from Gilga to Bethel; from Bethel to Jericho and to Jordon, Elisha stunningly refused, three different times.
He must have seem to be up to something, who knows.
Of course ‘destiny reflectors’ never failed to do their work. From no where they came in few number all in the name of prophet sons asking unreasonable questions.
” Are you aware, your master will be taken away from you today?
Shut up! & remain quiet!
Yet they emerged  again and again from no where, this time in fifties asking the same stupid question.
Rubbish!!!
But come to think of it, Is Elisha blind or have hard ear?
Has he followed the master sheepishly all these years??
Seeing his perseverance, Elijah was force to ask ” What can I do for you before I’m taken away?” vs 9
I’m sure it must have been a battle between holding tight to his Boss and letting go of him & loosing everything.
Then he replied ” please let me become your rightful successor ”
And then he gat work for a goal or get his eyes fixed firmly on it. Maybe he has diligently worked these years hoping this might come someday.  The assurance has been confirmed but on a condition he (Elijah) may not be able to change. It’s now time to grab it. Keeping alert and staying determined is necessary else you’ll loose it.
Suddenly, there came the chariots of fire swooping between them with thick cloud as Elijah was taken up.
And Elisha saw the rapture despite the separation created by the chariots and the thick cloud screaming at the top of his voice My Father! There he grabbed the cloak mantle and the oil of Elijah came upon Elisha even more and greater exploit.
There are no easy dreams achievable. If you find one easy and cheap, it not genuine, doesn’t worth it and will fail shortly.
        You’ve got dreams?
     You’re working for it??
You gat stay alert then, from all distractions!                            Your dream(s) will come through then.                                   Nothing can stop you except you!   :De-exceptn+
Shalom!

The Worthlessness in Today

I’ve come across several people who value each day and its activity as life eternal. When you walk along the streets, visit business places like mall, market, offices, schools etc; of course you’ll see different individuals each pursuing a particular goal. When a critical look is taken about each is these goals, they all revolve around making the day count and/or investing a part for the future.
A business mum was asked, “what do you struggle for?” Unhesitatingly she responded ” Of course my children”. They’re still tender anyway, but I’m doing my very best to make sure I give them the best of education in the world and financial support that even if I’m no more, they won’t have much challenges, she ad-libbed.
Certainly every other parents like BillGate, Dangote etc and non-parent’s aim isn’t far from the above.
In fact, in our Jet age world, a child of 2years already understands and value wealth & technology than morals then talk of a relationship with God.
From a growing child doing academically great to a project manager putting everything in place to ensure project success to the board of trustee and stakeholders; their aim or goal isn’t too different from the parent above.
Mind you, I’m not saying its wrong being ambitious & to gat zeal. But something is seriously wrong pursuing these goals without a second thought. You don’t care who’s affected on the long run. No consideration of its worth in the next few years talk of eternity.
And I ask, what’s the value of your present wealth tomorrow?
I had wished anyone could answer this question correctly.
When the disciples of Christ saw the magnificence of the temple in Jerusalem, probably in their heart, they must have thought its gonna be eternal since its a place of worship and the house of God in that matter. And Jesus knowing their mind told them, when the time (end) comes, their will not be left a stone on the other. Vs 6
And then He went further after several illustration of the destruction that will befall this earth and everything in it saying; ” Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words are eternal” Luk 21:33
Lets not talk about the eternal worth of your wealth yet. How long will that stuff you crave for last? What will its value be by morrow?? Do you know???
A man reluctantly rejected the sale of his company/ properties at certain rate, thinking its worth will be far better in years to come thus bringing them much gain. However, after several years when he decided to sale it, he was left with no option than giving at 5% of what he rejected a decade ago.
Now talking about the eternal worth of our wealth, there’s nothing disputable or arguable about that.
Thence, why being over zealous? Why selfishly pursuing that goal as if its gonna give you eternal life?
Solomon with all his wealth yet concludes and call it vain, then I wonder …
Most parents prefer a wealthy legacy for their children and be recognised as affluent people rather than leading their kids and youths along the path of eternity. No relationship with God, some gat not even morals but thinking of their parent’s affluence.
When most people hear/see eternity online, they scroll faster or simply close the page even. The truth remains that eternity will surely come, its not human choice to make or decide.
Permit me paraphrase this scripture.  What gain is there after making much/ huge profits in/of the world and at the end you can’t account of it nor take hold of it: yet, you loose your precious soul?? Mark 8:36
Whatever you crave for, inasmuch as its earth, it cannot go beyond the earth. Its worth will certainly depreciate and amount to nothing.
Then let’s curb/ curtail our desires and crave more for the scripture, the life giving Word; then we’re certain even if everything is lost, the optimum remain.

Grace Led Me Here

Now let's take a holistic review of our activities( planned & unplanned) of past years or the very last in particular.
Its quite obvious and clear that some of those that resulted impromptu seeming unrealistic were achievements celebrated or waiting to be. Of course we can't neglect those set as goals and finally crowned with huge celebration because they came real.
On the other hand, some of both the later and former resulted to loopholes we never expected.
All the same in all cases, there are reasons for which you've celebrated.

Looking intently, you will realise that none of these achievements were actually 100% success as a result of your contribution. Every other persons you made contact with must have played significant roles. Sometimes this roles are seen to be minute, to some persons we may particularly conclude they did nothing.
But no matter how intangible the roles may seem, they actually contributed to your success. Little wonder the popular adage, a tree cannot make a forest.

There are those who will dispute this fact even as plane as it could be. Well, no matter the background of your argument, the truth must always be called truth.

But peradventure you're successful disputing all facts about human assistance to your achievement, you must never fail to recognise the divine assistance of God.

Few weeks ago, my discussion with an artiest reveals his disbelief in the existence of God, thus he doesn't accept anything resulting from the help God provides in accordance to His will for our lives.
He entirely believe every success he achieve results from his personal effort or that of other human who are willing to reciprocate help.
Its not my first time meeting such people anyway, but this time I met a young promising Nigerian and his expression really baffled me.
For this set of people, it might look a waste of time explaining this, except they're first convinced about God then...

Someone may then question, what's your effort towards convincing him about God? Well, after a short discussion, he concluded; there's nothing you've gat to say that I've never heard. After understanding the milieu both naturally and career-wise, I decided in my heart, this one needs God's direct intervention. Of course he still needs prayers.

When God has divinely designed things to be, whether your effort is available or not, it will surely come to pass.
Jesus told the Pharisee, God is capable of raising stones to praise Himself if they fail to do so.
In similar way, God just request human assistance to pursue/fulfill His will not necessarily because He can't perform it divinely, thus when God gives us opportunity to become His workmanship/partner, we ought to accept it wholeheartedly.

I may have a weakness here to list all your achievements throughout 2017. Well, I know you may as well have such difficulty especially for some, that might seem small. But if you could find a solitary place, reflect within few minutes, you'll certainly recollect things that came to success even without your effort.
Now ask yourself, how could this have come success without the help of God- that's Grace, isn't it?

Some persons hardly recognise nor accept Grace made available for them by God just like the guy above. They can in fact tell you, there's nothing like Grace. But believe me, there's absolutely nothing achievable without the sufficiency in God making it possible. It doesn't matter here the amount of effort/contribution made by you.
Jesus Christ in spite of His sovereignty recognise Grace made available by God, thus He asked. " If it be your will, let this cup pass over me, nevertheless not my will but thine" - Mrk 14:36.

The grace of God is made available for us, whether on demand or not. That's though to a certain degree for each individual. Don't ask me why Christ had to seek for it. Of course His mission was signed and sealed already and His task was a critical one.

Thus from each mild activity to the tasking goals we set to achieve, when we see & recognise God's Grace made available, things become essay hence, we gat no worry when things don't work like we plan and that's possible by trusting God's capability to fix things for us even when they wrong.

Throughout the years past, nothings had made things possible for me & family and kept us going if not God.
Through tough, mild and essay times, God is involved and without Him, I am nothing.
That Grace is still available to keep you going through the year 2018 and beyond. Just trust God & obey Him.

Welcome to 2018.
